Job Summary

This role will report to the Mountain/West/Texas Accounting Manager and will act as the business partner to drive operational performance and efficiencies related to inventory in the Mountain, Southwest, and Texas regions. The ideal candidate will enjoy being hands-on, working strategically with operational leadership, and implementing processes and procedures for inventory and internal controls in accordance with company policy.


  • Improve the costing process of the operations (Cost Estimating, BOMs, Inventory Controls)
  • Coordinate inventory counts/controls together with plant management
  • Assist in Month and year-end closings
  • Receive and reconcile intercompany transfers
  • Assist with inventory cycle counts and reconciling
  • Implement and enforce financial/inventory controls in the operation’s compliance with SOX
  • Support the Plant Management with inventory control and ad-hoc requests
  • Prepare, run, and review reports and other analyses for business management
  • Investigate and work to resolve unusual items and discrepancies in the general ledger and sub-ledger accounts
  • Provide support to internal customers with respect to accounting inquiries
  • Other duties, projects, and backup as assigned

Key Roles, Specific Knowledge, Skills & Experiences

  • Experience in manufacturing cost and variance analysis
  • Understands inventory control and data workflows
  • Experience in developing and implementing Financial Processes and controls surrounding inventory
  • Solid understanding of general accounting
  • Working in a business partner capacity
  • Prior experience in ERP system implementation at an operating site is a plus

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • Advanced Degrees, CPA, and CMA certifications as a plus
  • 3+ years of experience
