Job Description

Roc is looking for a real estate attorney with 1-3 years of experience closing real estate transactions in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. While having real estate experience is preferred, candidates who exemplify an interest in real estate are also encouraged to apply.

What You Will Do

  • Work alongside and support Roc’s Real Estate Counsel, as well as Roc’s outside counsel, to close real estate transactions, on behalf of Roc Capital, a nationwide private lender, for various loan products including fix & flip loans, single property rentals, multifamily term loans, ground up and more. 
  • As part of the closing process, you will be reviewing title reports, negotiating loan documents, and reviewing entity documents for LLCs, corporations, and trusts.
  • With Roc’s tech-focused approach in mind, assisting with implementing and working alongside the tech team to streamline processes and suggest technological updates to facilitate forward-thinking initiatives that improve the closing process.
  • Assist with preparing investor reports, internal and external presentations, and contributing to weekly meetings geared towards improving Roc’s real estate-legal department, alongside all members of the team.
  • Support Roc’s Real Estate counsel with respect to servicing loans post-closing and working with outside counsel on matters involving delinquencies, foreclosures, workout negotiations, etc.

Your Skills & Experiences

  • Juris Doctorate and have passed the NY bar exam.
  • 1-3 years working as an attorney (ideally in real estate) in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience reviewing title reports, loan documents, and closing real estate transactions.
  • Highly organized with an attention to detail. 
  • Professional and have a client-focused approach to dealing with parties from various backgrounds and experiences.
