Kingsway Care is growing fast and is looking for another experienced Care Coordinator to join the team. This role is at the heart of the CareGiver team and requires a focused skill set to ensure that our CareGivers in the community are fully supported.

From the beginning of their Kingsway journey, through their comprehensive training program, during the probationary period and progressing into becoming first-class CareGivers in the community.

Approximately 50% of this role will be office based, in our modern, purpose-built Kingsway Care office in Hove. The remaining 50% of the role will be in the community, completing shadow visits and observations, spot checks and supervisions, support visits, and refresher training. The role is full-time (40 hours), Monday to Friday, with one working on-call weekend every six weeks (with 2 days off in lieu).

Objectives of the role

Kingsway Care prides itself on providing excellent care to all of our clients. Through the in-house training and personal development program, the primary aim of the CareGiver Coordinator will be to develop a team of first-class CareGivers in the community.

  • Delivery of an excellent CareGiver training program, using our online training platform and face-to-face training days
  • Support all CareGivers to complete the Kingsway Care 12-week journey and Care Certificate
  • High-quality management of CareGivers in the community
  • Ensure a consistently high-quality care provision for all clients
  • Effectively manage CareGiver concerns in the field
  • Monitor staff welfare, morale, and well-being, alongside personal development

Daily/Weekly Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the Kingsway Care training and development process, ensuring compliance with Kingsway Cares regulatory requirements
  • Complete new starter inductions
  • Responsible for monitoring standards of care delivered by experienced and recently qualified care staff through field-based observations
  • Flexibility to work for periods on weekends/in evenings (where necessary) to complete field observations
  • Ensure regular supervisions and appraisals are completed, recorded, and kept up to date
  • Produce reports in respect of care note audits/caregiver performance audits/lessons learned
  • Co-Chair weekly team meetings

Monthly Responsibilities

  • Audit report writing
  • Managing periodic CareGiver incidents
  • Completion of periodic back-to-work meetings
  • Complete and review CareGiver covid-19 risk assessments
  • Report into monthly management meetings
  • Cover on-call weekend 1:6
  • Cover weekday evening on call once a fortnight
  • Cover daytime on call once a week

Necessary skills and proven experience

  • L3 Diploma in Health & Social Care
  • Excellent working knowledge of the day-to-day requirements of domiciliary care provisions
  • A good understanding of medication management
  • Ability to investigate and conduct medication incidents
  • Have an excellent understanding of Moving and Handling processes
  • Have an excellent understanding of Safeguarding legislation of procedures
  • Ability to complete a variety of client risk assessments within a care plan
  • Detailed and comprehensive report writing
  • Able to work as part of a team but with the ability to work equally well unsupervised
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and non-verbal)
  • Able to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others
  • Able to demonstrate supervisory skills
  • Ability to give clear instructions and guidance
  • Able to demonstrate enthusiasm, with a positive attitude and approach to their work
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Excellent timekeeping and ability to meet the travel requirements of the role
  • Ability to deal with conflict
  • To keep up to date with relevant training and legislation
