The Project Engineer is primarily responsible for using independent judgment and discretion to direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the drilling organization.

Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Evaluates blueprints for accuracy and clarity
• Makes recommendations to modify projects to ensure efficient use of resources
• Prepares, issues evaluate, and awards fabrication contracts and purchase orders.
• Creates & maintains detailed production schedules
• Evaluates third-party design analysis for thoroughness and accuracy. Ensures components are built to H&P standards and work with vendors to correct compliance concerns
• Interfaces with the Engineering department and internal customers to discuss proposal presentations, equipment specifications, etc.
• Develops conceptual design for drilling equipment that is best suited for a particular application
• Analyzes project expenditures to monitor and control project costs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related fields
• 3-5 years of prior or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent PC-based software application skills: Excel, Word, etc.
• Ability to organize and plan multiple activities which require close attention to detail
