Position Summary

The role supports the US Firm across a range of projects related to the firm’s strategy and financial performance. The Analyst will work closely with the Finance & Administration organization and other firm Businesses and Enabling Areas throughout the lifecycle of an M&A transaction.
 
The Mergers & Acquisitions (“M&A”) Finance Analyst will be responsible for supporting the M&A Senior Consultants, Managers, and Senior Managers in all areas of an acquisition lifecycle to drive analysis and strategic decisions, gain consensus among stakeholders and prepare clear, concise and compelling presentations for leadership.
 
The acquisition lifecycle includes initial financial due diligence, business case modeling, and review, understanding of the target’s accounting processes, integration planning, and execution, and post-acquisition support and review. 
 
The Analyst will also support the team in financial analysis, excel modeling, report creation, and standardization, identifying the impacts of decisions and activities that affect the broader support organization and other ad-hoc requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Support M&A Finance Seniors and Managers in diligence by pulling data provided by targets, cleansing and consolidating data into usable formats, and analyzing data
  • Develop financial models to analyze target financial results, financial plans, forecasts, investments, ROI calculations, and review business case data; support the gathering and input of data into models to prepare internal reports and presentations for Senior leadership
  • Engage and collaborate with Corporate Development and Business Sponsors; plan and execute workshops with targets to facilitate diligence and integration
  • Review detailed business cases to challenge assumptions and targets and perform a comparison against Deloitte results to assess the impact from a financial and operational standpoint. Prepare presentations with key findings and recommendations for leadership
  • Support integration planning, including gaining a deep understanding of the targeted business and accounting processes to understand the integration risks and challenges when developing plans across multiple projects
  • Support International Ventures with Deloitte Global firms in diligence, integration, and post-deal support including investment tracking, accounting, financial reporting and analysis, forecasting, planning, and other Finance matters
  • Prepare standardized acquisition reporting on a periodic basis and other various deliverables
  • Manage project work plans to migrate target into Deloitte

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in progress in these areas of study: business, economics, math, analytics, finance, or a related field
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel is required. Strong PowerPoint capabilities to create compelling presentations preferred
  • Excellent process management skills are required. The applicant must be organized and able to handle high volumes of transactional activity, tight deadlines, and ever-changing priorities. The applicant must possess the ability to prioritize competing tasks and handle unique situations and be comfortable working on a variety of projects and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. The applicant must possess the strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with all levels of the organization regarding sensitive information.
  • The ability to work with virtual teams across geographic and cultural boundaries is required.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Some travel (about 15 – 25%) may be required given the hands-on nature of the role. A US-based office location is required to enable this analysis and travel flexibility.
