Cypress Creek Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Risk Manager! Cypress Creek Hospital is a free-standing 128-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in north Houston, TX, and minutes south of The Woodlands.

Cypress Creek Hospital features individual units for adolescents and adults and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate healthcare team each year at Cypress Creek Hospital.

We are comprised of a tenured dedicated team of Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, Mental Health Technicians and Support Staff where delivering REMARKABLE care is our mission.

The Risk Manager is a member of Cypress Creek Hospital’s Senior Leadership Team and has broad responsibility to protect the hospital’s assets from loss. The Risk Manager is responsible for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potential sources of loss.

And for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure. The structure and functions of the Risk Management Program are designed to comply with the guidelines and standards of TJC, other regulatory agencies, and the UHS T.E.R.M.© Program.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Risk identification, evaluation, and reduction. Timely and accurate claims management and preparation and submission of all reports. Chaired risk-related committees and provide education to staff regarding the UHS T.E.R.M.©Program.  Investigates and report results or concerns related to patient care as requested by insurance companies and regulatory agencies

Qualifications

Risk Manager Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a healthcare-related field, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Four (4) years experience in risk management/improving organization performance within an acute medical or psychiatric treatment setting.
  • Successful completion of CPR and Handle with Care certification; certification may be obtained during orientation.
  • Leadership, problem-solving and administrative skills.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of TJC, CMS, TDSHS, OSHA, and other applicable state and federal regulatory requirements governing medical or mental health care facilities.
