Full Job Description

The Painter is responsible for mixing, matching, and applying paint to various surfaces of Offshore HVAC equipment, and coordinating large painting projects. The Painter’s efforts actively support our mission of ensuring reliable, durable, and safe operations for our customers by furnishing the highest quality industrial HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets paint procedures specified
  • Coordinates work to best utilize materials and time
  • Uses paint equipment-(Airless, Cup Gun & Conventional Spray Pot) effectively and properly positions the required settings
  • Mixes, matches and applies paint to various surfaces
  • Analyzes surfaces and determines the best method of paint touch-up needed
  • Repairs and properly maintains spray equipment
  • Orders material and supplies for the department
  • Completes assigned tasks within the allotted hours with minimum to no rework
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Operates forklift to transport supplies and equipment
  • And all other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • Two (2) years minimum of Industrial/Offshore-2 & 3 coat Systems paint experience required
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be able to operate a forklift
  • Must be able to operate common hand tools, spray guns, and airless machine
  • Strong communications skills in order to maintain effective working relationships
  • Requires forward thinking, logical planning, and the ability to work productively in a team environment
  • NACE Certification a plus

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to paint fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses, a respirator, and steel-toed work boots.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Manufacturing: 1 year (Required)
  • 2 & 3 Coat Systems Painting: 2 years (Required)
