Our greatest asset has been and will continue to be, our people.  We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of HR Coordinator in our HQ Human Resources group based in Houston, Texas.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Inputs maintain, audits, extracts, manipulates and analyzes confidential HR data from PeopleSoft, Taleo, and Talent Management Systems.
  • Runs periodic audits of PeopleSoft HRIS data to ensure data consistency and accuracy.  Recognizes variations, deviations, and corrections from the data and implements corrective actions, as needed.
  • Initiates changes to the PeopleSoft HRIS associated with various personnel events such as job/organizational changes and salary actions.
  • Interacts with IT on workflow matters related to new hires, transfers, and terminations.
  • Creates complex standard and ad-hoc reports and analytics.  Utilizes Excel spreadsheets and Spotfire databases to generate scatter plots, pie charts, and bar charts, and analyze statistical data.
  • Prepares compensation analysis, offers, and spreadsheets for HR Managers and Business Partners.
  • Administers and tracks short-term disability, FMLA, long-term disability, educational assistance, vacation service credit, and commuter value rule programs.  Responds to general employee inquiries on HR policies and programs.
  • Creates and updates organizational charts and publishes them on the intranet.
  • Prepares and tracks employee recognition awards; reports monthly expenditures and trends to management.
  • Coordinates summer college intern program for the business unit.  Forecasts college hiring needs and presents recommendations to upper management.
  • Supports staffing tasks such as creating job requisitions in Taleo, tracking new hire onboarding progress and start dates, initiating relocation for transfers, and preparing internal transfer/promotion letters for the Business Unit.
  • Leads HR communications efforts related to personnel announcements, organizational announcements,s, etc.
  • Provides entry-level HR Business Partner support to assigned client groups, as needed.
  • Serves as backup to other HR Coordinators and HR Business Partners, as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree and at a minimum of 1 year of applicable industry experience in a Human Resources or business reporting role preferred
  • Ability to handle confidential data with a high level of professionalism.
  • Proficient at manipulating large volumes of data from PeopleSoft or other HRIS systems.
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.  Proven ability to manipulate and analyze data using pivot tables, v-lookups, and formulas.
  • Strong math and statistical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and priority-setting skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently on multiple projects concurrently with time-sensitive deadlines
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and be proactive when work assignments or priorities change and a willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure the overall effectiveness of the HR function.
  • Ability to prepare correspondence and documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Be resourceful in accomplishing work tasks and obtaining needed information.
  • Ability to interact in a helpful, courteous, and professional manner with assigned client groups.
  • Demonstrated a sense of urgency and the level of energy required to handle a fast-paced environment.  Must have the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Demonstrated reliable work ethic and desire to put in extra time and effort to ensure effectiveness.  Able to work overtime, as requested by Human Resources Manager.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior knowledge and experience with Spotfire.
