Job Description

The Macquarie Capital business is investing in a UX transformation that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Investment Bank’s transaction workflow.  You will have the unique opportunity to work as a key liaison between the business and technology teams located across the globe.

The Business Analyst role will report to the Product Owner for Central (Platform Management) and will focus on the elicitation, development, and defining of business requirements to improve the management of the transaction lifecycle. They will work closely with Solution Architects and Adoption Managers to design fit-for-purpose designs and process flows.

Your day-to-day focus will be to support the Product Owner in analyzing the business domain while stocking and grooming the product backlog for the technical delivery team. You will become part of strong team culture, working closely with the delivery team and change management, while becoming a subject matter expert in Investment Banking processes.

Ideally, you will be a detailed, organized, and great communicator, committed to ensuring optimal solutions and business outcomes can be designed and agreed upon. The role will support stakeholders in other regions, including Sydney, New York, and London and the role will require a flexible working schedule.

To be successful, strong candidates will have:

Professional Experience:

  • 5+ years involving SDLC, requirements analysis/definition, documentation, and delivery
  • Experience developing user stories, success criteria, and test cases to deliver a product
  • Be comfortable working in Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Past or current experience with product management, SCRUM, or associated frameworks
  • Confidence in working closely with business SMEs to gather and document requirements
  • Practical experience generating process and requirement documentation

Soft skills:

  • A proficiency to communicate visually and constructing a business narrative from requirements
  • An ability to think creatively and design solutions based on varying stakeholder needs
  • Adaptability to work both collaboratively and self-directed when required

Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
