Internal Research Library Manager

Client’s Research Team seeks an internal research library manager to support a knowledge management system. We have a goal of sharing information with cross-functional stakeholders. While sharing-enablement is a key obligation of this work, security and access permissions are also requirements of equal importance.

  • The person who fills this position would be responsible for cataloging the research, ensuring accuracy and precision, and organizing necessary details in a format that resonates with Research Team leads, other members of company leadership, as well as a legal audience. This involves reporting directly to the Research Program Manager who understands the goals and implications of the program and will supervise the structuring and implementation of knowledge content. Responsibilities include:
  • Logging research studies to drive efficiency, increase knowledge sharing, and build capacity to meet the needs of the primary audience of the research: internal and external legal teams
  • Scaling an inventory system that can be iterated upon and leveraged by future knowledge managers
  • Proactively identifying and partnering with the Research Program Manager on internal processes, templates, and guidelines to improve knowledge management optimization and documentation

  • Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field (library sciences, information sciences, or law), or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of knowledge management experience within a large global organization in the technology industry, and/or within a legal or research field
  • Familiarity with knowledge management or content management systems
  • Experience with establishing programs end-to-end and managing complex logistics while scaling for growth
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Excellent ability to communicate, collaborate and exercise sound judgment and reasoning; heightened attention to detail
  • Preferred qualification: Background in social science research or in the topic of privacy
