What does this role look like?

We are on a journey to Mars and we’re closer than ever. Lockheed Martin built NASA’s first Mars lander 40 years ago and has been a part of every NASA mission to the Red Planet. Are you passionate about making a difference?

Orion will transport humans to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit, such as asteroids, the moon, and eventually Mars, and return them safely back to Earth. This role will offer you the following daily challenges:

Perform contracts management functions across the spectrum of actions associated with
providing supplies and services, from capture through the proposal, contract award, and all phases of contract administration.

Provide business advice and guidance to and coordinate with other functions including
program management, finance, legal, subcontracts, business development,
engineering, human resources, accounting, and compliance to effectively manage a breadth of responsibilities, including contract solicitations/capture, negotiations, and contract terms, including fulfillment of related obligations.

Serve as authorized, an empowered representative for the Company as an interface with Customer buying representatives responsible for building effective relationships and managing contracts to support business goals and objectives. Coordinate solutions to contractual issues and Customer concerns related to Company performance.

Ensure contractual compliance with all laws and regulations and adherence to Delegation of Authority and approval requirements for proposals and contractual actions. Lead and support audits, as appropriate, with internal and external audit teams and agencies
to support contract-related activities and verify compliance.

Ensure final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached in negotiations. May plan and participate in the training of contract practices within the Company.  Collect contractual data and compiles reports in response to Corporate and Business Area

Basic Qualifications:

To be successful, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 15 years or more of professional experience; or 13 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.

Desired Skills:

To be successful, ideally, you should also have:

  • 10+ years of direct Contract Management experience in federal government contracting (DOD, NASA, Civil, etc)
  • Superior knowledge of the FAR/DFAR/NFS
  • 10+ years experience negotiating high dollar contracts (~50M+)
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
