Job Summary:

  • Plans direct and coordinates manufacturing processes.
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Under general supervision analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layouts of equipment and work cells for maximum efficiency.
  • This will include the design of tooling, lifting devices, fixtures, etc. Evaluate safety procedures and reduce hazards throughout the plant.
  • Participate in new product development.
  • Will utilize ERP for assigned tasks such as pulling Bill of Materials (BOM) or pulling drawings from product life cycle management (PLM), engineering software tools, or internal databases.
  • Confers with vendor meetings to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to price, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Meet with internal groups to support manufacturing needs.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering

Experience:

  • 0-5 years of relevant work experience

Work Environment:

  • General office environment, with exposure to electrical and heavy industry hazards, possible non-climate controlled environments

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, standing, stooping, climbing, kneeling, crawling

Tools/Equip:

  • MS Office, ERP, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Pro-E/CREO use of various electronic instruments and measuring tools.
