OVERVIEW 

The Avery and TarcherPerigee imprints at Penguin Random House are searching for an Associate Marketing Manager to join their team! This position will work directly with the Marketing Director to develop and execute marketing campaigns for franchise authors.

As well as front-list titles in the self-help, cooking, mind, body, and spirit categories, all while working with a passionate and collaborative team that can tell you all about their natal charts, attachment styles, and favorite recipes.

You will have the opportunity to work with many different departments in this role, including publicity, editorial, creative marketing services, and consumer insights, and will be afforded many opportunities to learn and grow.

Avery and TarcherPerigee are two non-fiction imprints of Penguin Publishing Group. Avery publishes groundbreaking non-fiction across a range of categories including health and wellness, accessible science and psychology, practical and inspirational self-help, and plant-based cookbooks.

TarcherPerigee publishes self-help books for new generations: emotional health for finding calm, journals and activity books for finding clarity, spirituality for finding meaning, family and relationship books for fostering connections, social justice for understanding, and a few ‘Odd 1s’ for the kid in all of us. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, implement, and analyze integrated marketing campaigns
  • Develop creative campaigns for our franchise authors with a goal of increasing consumer awareness around back-list titles and continued author brand development around front-list titles
  • Work closely with authors, influencers, and brands to maximize campaign effectiveness
  • Work closely with publicists to shape and execute cohesive online and offline campaigns
  • Develop sell-in and marketing materials in communication with our ad/promo and sales teams
  • Maintain budgets for assigned titles and projects

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of marketing experience, book marketing experience a plus
  • Experience working on creative and strategic campaigns
  • Experience developing author brands
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms and influencer marketing
  • Facility with creating presentations in PowerPoint and/or Google Slides
  • Knowledge of online design platforms like Canva
  • Excellent project management, communication, organizational, prioritization, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
