ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Approach all encounters with associates and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working
- Comply at all times with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Ensure compliance with all policies and Code of Conduct as specified in the Employee Handbook
- Reviews/maintains daily payroll reports/records
- Maintains labor costs within established budgetary limits
- Ensure accurate and timely input of employee data and effective reporting
- Process 401k, garnishments, and other deductions bi-weekly
- Provide answers to general payroll questions and address issues that may arise in a timely manner
- Processes payroll in a timely and accurate manner and ensure compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws, as well as hotel policies
- Reconciles and audits all payrolls. Defines and takes corrective action as needed
- Processes and releases manual off-cycle disbursements
- Maintains all payroll records, including electronic and paper filing
- Maintains employee information confidential
- Develops and implements payroll training for employees and supervisors
- Acts as liaison between multiple departments
- Assists in the processing of bi-weekly/bi-monthly payroll as necessary.
- Prepares and calculates changes to prior payrolls
- Processes and audits Employee Change Notices
- Audits and extends payroll transmittal registers
- Performs data entry of employees’ payroll exceptions and corrections
- Open and verify cash drop envelopes from Outlets and the Front Desk
- Prepare and distribute the various reports to Outlet Managers, Front Desk, and Accounting
- Maintain house fund bank, Maintain individual bank contracts
- Reconcile and prepare daily cash deposits for the hotel including f&b outlets
- Conduct monthly audits for all house bank/funds
- Ensure compliance with established hotel policies for cash handling
- Assist in month-end closing
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Attend meetings/training as required by management
- Perform other duties as requested by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc., from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
- Must be able to work with, understand and interpret financial information, hotel operations data, and basic arithmetic functions
- Must be able to prioritize regional, hotel, or departmental functions in order to meet all deadlines
- Long hours sometimes required
- Sedentary work – exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred
- Minimum of 1+ years of Payroll and Cashier experience preferred
- Prior hospitality experience preferred
