Behavioral Health College Partnership
Northwell Health’s Zucker Hillside Hospital is located in Glen Oaks, New York, and rests upon a 32-acre park-like campus. It is the psychiatric division of Northwell Health, formerly the North Shore – Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Health System.
Behavioral Health College Partnership (BHCP). The Behavioral Health College Partnership is a unique community service program that works closely with 93 affiliated colleges and universities and their student counseling centers to address behavioral health issues impacting undergraduate and graduate students.
BHCP collaborates to provide state-of-the-art evaluation and evidence-based treatment for psychiatric crises and the aftermath, as well as diverse challenges ranging from adjustment problems to major disorders emerging during the transition to college life.
Northwell Health’s Psychiatry Department at Zucker Hillside Hospital is seeking a full-time (1.0FTE) psychologist to join our interdisciplinary team in our outpatient clinic specializing in the treatment of the college population.
The candidate should possess exceptional clinical skills with extensive experience in the areas of Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Psychologists with training and experience treating the LGBTQ+ population are strongly encouraged to apply.
The individual in this position will head up the SOGIE programming for BHCP, with opportunities for program development. Candidates should be confident in conducting individual therapy, leading DBT skills groups, and supervising and training psychiatry residents and psychology trainees including externs, interns, and post-doctoral fellows.
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree from APA – accredited program in clinical psychology
- New York State Clinical Psychologist License
- Strong CBT experience required
- Prior training in DBT and CBT preferred
- Extensive experience conducting group and individual therapy for personality and mood disorders
- Experience working in an acute outpatient setting and with graduate/medical students
- Team player and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
