Position Description:

Assembles installs, repairs, maintains and troubleshoots HVAC systems and equipment.

Position Qualifications:

  • Refrigeration System Operating Engineer Certification.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • The ability to read, understand and communicate in English is required. Communication includes both verbal and written skills.  Must be able to communicate effectively with other trade partners as well as peers, supervisors, and clients. 
  • Basic computer skills such as internet, email, electronic manual, etc.  Ability to learn additional programs as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications for sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, EPS, and boiler systems are preferred.
  • Prior work experience in a commercial setting.

Essential Duties:

  • Trouble-shoot controls and power electrical systems.
  • Remove and replace motors, starters, relays, limit switches, fuses, and primary control components.
  • Trouble-shoot primary electronic systems using ladder logic, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Must be able to make new installation wiring hook-ups and upgrade present equipment (if needed).
  • Assembling, inspecting adjusting, repairing, or replacing faulty parts and wiring on all types of electronic and electrical devices. Making mechanical and electrical repairs as required.
  • Perform mechanical operations, repair, and maintenance of building systems including automatic transfer switches, UPS/battery storage, emergency generators, and photovoltaic systems.
  • Interpret and understand Federal, State, and local code ordinances.  
  • Must be able to work varying shifts including, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be comfortable working at Airports. 
  • Be familiar with kitchen equipment. 
  • Other duties as assigned, handyman experience is a plus.
